The Triumph of the Earth — Part of Damian Barr’s Literary Salon.

April is a month when it’s easy to see nature pushing back against adversity - as blossom showers us even in wind gusts that seem intentionally menacing, and green shoots push up undeterred through the deep mud in the forest. Earth Day is just around the corner on April 22nd, so I will be celebrating the triumph of the Earth in Literature tonight, looking at books like Overstory by Richard Powers, The Underground Man by Mick Jackson ,The Time Machine by H G Wells, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Tentacle by Rita Indiana.
